Bridging Earth and Innovation: TRAPIDE CEO Speaks at Forum

Tokyo, Japan – April 2025 At the DRC-Japan Business and Investment Forum held this morning at the United Nations University in Tokyo, Mr. Freddy Kankolongo Cisuaka, CEO of TRAPIDE Co., Ltd. and a Congolese citizen residing in Japan, delivered a compelling presentation on the immense investment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

A Call to Strengthen DRC-Japan Economic Partnerships.

In his address, Freddy emphasized the untapped potential across all sectors in the DRC, including mining, agriculture, digital infrastructure, and energy. Speaking both as a proud Congolese and as a resident of Japan, he called on the Congolese government to enhance the country's trade and investment readiness, especially by strengthening its external trade frameworks and fostering more robust partnerships with Japanese investors..

DRC-Japan Forum Bridges Economic Visions and Partnerships.

The forum was held in the presence of His Excellency, the Deputy Prime Minister of the DRC, alongside the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) delegation, and various Japanese corporations and investors. Freddy’s presentation successfully bridged the perspectives of both nations:

To the Japanese audience:

He highlighted the value and integrity of Japanese partnerships by emphasizing Japan’s commitment to long-term collaboration, technological excellence, and ethical business practices. He noted that Japanese companies bring not only capital, but also precision, respect for local contexts, and a focus on sustainable development. These qualities, he stressed, make Japan an ideal partner for the DRC in building resilient infrastructure, strengthening institutional capacity, and fostering inclusive economic growth.

To the Congolese delegation

He showcased the DRC’s attractiveness and growth potential by highlighting its vast natural resources, strategic location at the heart of Africa, and a rapidly growing, youthful population. He emphasized key sectors such as mining, agriculture, energy, and digital infrastructure as areas ripe for investment. By framing the DRC as not just resource-rich but innovation-ready, he positioned the country as a compelling partner for Japanese companies seeking sustainable growth and long-term impact in emerging markets.

This forum served as a significant platform for advancing dialogue and collaboration between the two countries, with TRAPIDE continuing to play a key role in fostering mutually beneficial international cooperation.

The DRC must align its policies with global investors—especially partners like Japan who bring technology and long-term vision.
